Resumo

The conversation between Glenda Cristina Valim de Melo, Lina Rosa Berrio Palomo, and Samuel Silva Rodrigues de Oliveira addresses how the Movimento Negro Educador constitutes a concept, based on the works of Nilma Lino Gomes and her seminal book O Movimento Negro Educador (2017), as well as a political category with various ramifications. At first, each researcher addresses how they came in touch with the category and which epistemic ramifications can be currently found in the disciplines of Applied Linguistics, History and Anthropology. Thus, they produce an analysis of their disciplinary fields and their own research agendas. Subsequently, they carry out a discussion on how contemporary issues of decolonization, racism and anti-racism, and the crisis of democracies with the rise of the far right and its reactionary agenda are affected by the Movimento Negro Educador. Many are the languages that allow for ways of educating society and individuals for social emancipation.
