"GLOBO, I AM NOT YOUR NIGGER": AN ANALYSIS OF THE COUNTER-HEGEMONIC COMMUNICATION IN NET IN THE BOYCOTT MOVEMENT TO THE MINISERIE SEX AND THE BLACKS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to understand a context of social pressure in the Internet sphere, in Brazil 2014, when black women from all over the country mobilized through social networks in repudiation of the publication of the novel Sex and the Blacks, from TV Rede Globo. The analysis starts from a contextualization about the Afro-Brazilian social movements in Brazil and the advent of the new multimedia platforms in Levy (2001) and Castells (1999). Thus, the reflection seeks to map, through the object of study chosen, and according to Moraes (2007), what are the new counter-hegemonic movements in net. It is understood that the new communication technologies are configured in the contemporary scenario as racial question's spaces of resistance and visibility, contributing to the non-acceptance of the logic of prejudice and stigma to the black population, which historically is present in the traditional hegemonic media.
