Abstract
Jurema est diplômée en médecine de l'Université fédérale de Fluminense. Elle est titulaire d'un Master en Génie de Production de la Coordination des Programmes Ingénieurs Supérieurs / COPPE / UFRJ. En outre, elle est également titulaire d'un doctorat en communication et culture de l'École de communication de l'Université fédérale de Rio de Janeiro. Elle est directrice exécutive d'Amnesty International Brésil, membre du conseil d'administration du Fonds mondial pour la femme, présidente du conseil d'administration du Fonds brésilien des droits de l'homme. Et elle est co-fondatrice de CRIOLA, une organisation non gouvernementale qui œuvre pour défendre et promouvoir les droits des femmes noires.
