Abstract

Abstract: Black women form the largest group of users of the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS). Despite this fact, the theme of race relations is little discussed in the context of this system. The present study starts from an intersectional perspective to address the (re)production of social vulnerabilities and impacts on living conditions. The objective of this research was to investigate the production of scientific knowledge on the insertion of black women at SUAS. An integrative literature review was conducted, which located seven studies. The results point to a very small national production. Although race is understood as an important element to understand social inequality, the discussions focus mainly on gender and/or class relations. The production of knowledge about black women users of SUAS needs to advance, considering the dimensions of race and gender, with a view to improving and implementing the Social Assistance Policy.
