Abstract
Ana Flávia Magalhães Pinto narrates her academic career in undergraduate courses in Brasília and in graduate courses in Salvador (UFBA) and São Paulo (Unicamp). She remembers her family origins, intellectual and academic influences. She comments on the changes in historiography, the historical contexts of the late 20th century, the social movements and the role of black intellectuals.
