Abstract
: Vanicleia Silva Santos narrates her academic trajectory in undergraduate studies at PUC-SP and postgraduate studies at USP, highlighting her family origins, intellectual and academic influences. She analyzes her research in African history and the role of black and black intellectuals in changing historiography. It evaluates its role as black teacher and academic, involved in projects in Brazil and in agreement in North American universities and Europe and Africa.
