Abstract

This work aims to present the two categories of whiteness (critical and uncritical) from the studies of Lourenço Cardoso. Whiteness as a racist manifestation crosses social relations not only in Brazil but in all parts of the world where dualisms: but in all parts of the world where dualisms: white/black; pure/impure; civilized/barbarian; original/artificial... dominate race relations that involve western and non-western subjects. It is a bibliographic type of work with a qualitative approach that is fundamentally based on presenting Cardoso's readings on whiteness, with the purpose of contributing to the fight against racism, and at the same time, proposing more humane racial relations.
