WHAT COLOR IS THE SAMURAI? AFROFUTURIST NARRATIVES ABOUT BLACK PRESENCE AND REPRESENTATION IN FEUDAL JAPAN
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work aims to discuss representation and representativeness from two anime (Japanese animations), verifying the black presence and their protagonism. To this end, the concept of Afrofuturism was observed as a theoretical horizon, with the works Afro Samurai (2007) and Yasuke (2021) as the observation point. This study intends to highlight the importance of imagining black aesthetics in spaces where it is not usually imagined or is often invisibilized.
