CIDA BENTO SAYS WHAT IS SILENT: REVIEW OF THE BOOK “O PACTO DA BRANQUITUDE”
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cida Bento, in the book, O pacto da branquitude (2022), uses her intellectuality to address how whiteness is historically silent about the slavery and colonialist past that guarantees benefits to the group and to the “others” are reserved places of subalternity. It's a great introduction to the subject, where we see how a system is prepared and maintained to keep the racial structure of comfort and economic privileges of whites unchanged.
