MÍDIA BRASILEIRA COMO INSTRUMENTO DE RACISMO E INTERDIÇÃO DO NEGRO NO CONTEXTO DAS AÇÕES AFIRMATIVAS

Abstract
Este artigo tem como objetivo o estudo da Mídia escrita e sua influência na formação da opinião pública e na propagação do racismo. No decorrer deste estudo analisamos duas revistas de grande circulação nacional (Veja e Época), em busca de detectar a presença de discursos racistas que venham de encontro às políticas de ação afirmativa. A mídia, enquanto veículo de informação de largo alcance, é um instrumento eficaz na formação da opinião pública e pode ser um mecanismo que deponha contra ou a favor de práticas racistas e preconceituosas contra negros e afrodescendentes, dependendo do discurso adotado por esse meio de comunicação de massa. Este estudo apontou que as revistas analisadas servem ao interesse de uma classe hegemônica e por isso apresentam discursos racistas de combate as políticas de ação afirmativas.
