Abstract
Eduardo de Assis Duarte é doutor em Letras pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e professor de Literatura da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) em Belo Horizonte. O autor de Poéticas da diversidade discute em Notas sobre a literatura brasileira afrodescendente, como denuncia o título, a contingência da produção, aceitação e ressonância da literatura afro-brasileira. Um sobrevoo histórico, principalmente, numa perspectiva literária descortina, no texto, o apagamento e o silenciamento de toda uma produção afro-brasileira que delata o mito da democracia racial. Este foi pregado por meio de discursos de igualdade de direitos e deveres, porém esvaziados pelo desrespeito ao outro: a chamada alteridade negativa.
