Abstract
A obra foi apresentada originalmente como dissertação de mestrado na área de Educação, defendida na Unesp de Araraquara e tornou-se o primeiro título da Coleção Teses Premiadas da Editora Unesp em 2005. O autor faz uma análise detalhada das reportagens e artigos publicados na Revista Veja no período de 1995 a 2001. Ricardo Filho, que é professor de História na rede estadual paulista há mais de 15 anos, procurou investigar como os artigos publicados na revista influenciaram as diretrizes educacionais. O slogan “boa escola” foi legitimado por atores que formam a rede de legitimidade, alguns deles denominados pela Veja como “os pais da nova escola”. A frequência com que esses autores assinavam as matérias despertou em Ricardo Filho um olhar mais atento às suas trajetórias acadêmicas.
