Abstract
O trabalho vem propor a compreensão dos elementos fundantes que condicionam a criação de grupos de bumba meu boi de sotaque de zabumba em São Luís do Maranhão. Nesse percurso, o estudo vem salientar a vida de homens e mulheres de origem rural, agora moradores dos centros urbanos na capital do Maranhão, São Luís, que juntos expressam seu modo de vida através de seus bumbas. Será dito as relações dinâmicas entre os integrantes, os possíveis envolvimentos com dirigentes e grupos políticos, como também, os inúmeros mecanismos que os produtores da cultura popular realizam para manter seus grupos juninos existentes.
