Abstract
Movimento Negro em Belo Horizonte: 1978-1998 aborda a história contemporânea do Movimento Negro, alicerçado em três eixos. O primeiro apresenta e discute os marcos históricos da fundação do Movimeno Negro Unificado (MNU) em julho de 1978. O segundo, problematiza os conceitos de movimento social negro e resistência negra enquanto sinônimos. Por fim, revela um vasto conjunto de ações contra a discriminação racial e o racismo, desenvolvidas pelos movimentos sociais negros, do período escravista aos dias atuais.
