Abstract
La route orientale de l’esclavage: identités et racines, le poids d’un héritage complexe nous invite à réfléchir sur la diversité culturelle et l’altérité de la côte orientale et de l’Afrique et surtout d’analyser en profondeur les conditions et les conséquences de la rencontre entre les diverses cultures (africaine, asiatique et européenne) et leurs emprunts successifs, leurs apports mutuels et les transformations profondes qui en ont résulté dans la région de l’océan indien en général et au Mozambique en particulier. C‘est aussi une analyse qui nous permet de développer un débat, un dialogue ayant pour but de réconcilier les sociétés avec leur passé commun, mais aussi et surtout de jeter les bases de la solidarité et de la paix pour l’avenir, et relever les défis de notre temps et du futur: respect pour la diversité des cultures.
