Abstract
O presente artigo foi concebido quando da escrita da dissertação de mestrado defendida em março de 2010 na Universidade Estadual de Londrina, intitulada Literatura afro em construção: a perspectiva da ancestralidade Bantu em Ponciá Vicêncio, de Conceição Evaristo, onde retratamos a busca da concepção de liberdade dos negros no ambiente urbano, o grau em que pressupõe uma maior autonomia, sendo, no entanto, privacidade mais restritiva, devido à dificuldade, já entrou na história que eles enfrentam em público. Note também a tentativa de outras pessoas, localizadas nas margens do texto, encontrar o seu ethos. A busca valorativa do negro é evidente, portanto, quando ele fala sobre si mesmo. Há identificação com seu ambiente para descobrir as suas memórias como seres que são um reflexo da tensão e da representação desta mimesis e o antagonismo em suas vidas.
