Abstract

This scientific production aims to make public the invisibility suffered by the religions and cultures of African matrices in the event "Palms - Capital of Faith" promoted by the municipal government of Palmas and the lack of access to effective public policies in the municipal scope by the follow up. To do this, it presents information about the event with public information coming from the municipal government of Palmas through its official notes, official municipality diary, official website with interviews with managers and confronts them with the foundations of the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988, in its Article 19, relating it to Mouriano's thinking in his books "Sociologia do Negro" and "Brazil-roots of black protest". It then points to the relevance and necessity of the pluralization of Afro-Brazilian culture and religiosity and the importance of the development of public policies for the cultures and religions of African matrices.

Thiago Francysco Rodrigues Cassiano, Universidade Federal do Tocantins

Thiago Francysco Rodrigues Cassiano é ator, performer, artista plástico e pesquisador com ênfase na área do desenvolvimento e trabalho das artes, teatro e humanidades. Acadêmico do curso de Licenciatura em Teatro pela UFT - Universidade Federal do Estado do Tocantins - Campus de Palmas (2015 - 2018). Pesquisador, pelo PIBIC – Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação Científica pela UFT, das artes, com ênfase em atuação e teatro, voltando-se as seguintes especificidades: teatro, teatro-educação, arte-educação, atuação e interpretação, trabalho e formação de atores, performance artística, experimentação cênica, composição poética cênica, processos criativos e educação do sensível. Também pesquisador das questões da raça negra (racismo, preconceito racial e desigualdade) e da cultura afro-brasileira.
