THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ANTIRACIST RESEARCH FIELD OR ABOUT WHEN SUBJECT AND OBJECT RESEARCH THEMSELVES
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present article is the result of methodological reflections built from a research within Social Psychology, which had as an interest to understand the trajectory of black middle class university students at UFMG. The complexity in constructing a politico-scientifically polymorphic and polyphonic field; led us to want to make explicit, in this article, some intricacies of the research process in a science implicated in the fight against racism in Brazil. It is perceived that the construction of a national research field on race relations contributes to understand some historical-political processes in scientific research, which, therefore, requires us positions in relation to the subject /society debate present in Social Psychology. We have also been able to point out possible paths in the investigation of the black middle class university students, as well as to discuss the importance of narrative reports in the field of race relations.
