ARTISAN FISHERMEN/FISHERWOMAN AND SPACE PRODUCTION: THE FISHING COMMUNITY OF BAIACU - VERA CRUZ (BA)

Abstract
This article aims at understanding and analyzing the geographic space organized and produced by artisanal fishermen, that is, the fishing space of the Baiacu community located in the municipality of Vera Cruz (BA). The work was noted that by appropriating nature, artisanal fishermen produce space, and constitute their spatiality and territoriality. In Baiacu, in particular, the space reveals singularities, thanks to its occupation and historical construction, since it expresses symbolism, metaphors, rich in stories and cultures, endowed with social practices and relations, which ), Fishermen, fishmongers, vendors, children, women, men, transform this space into a unique place, of a unique people, that makes their daily life "simple" the complexity of understanding the forms of resistance and maintenance of Practice of life through artisanal fishing.
