Abstract
Os trabalhos que compõem este dossiê abordam de diferentes perspectivas o modo como as questões étnico-raciais se configuram na e pela linguagem. Para além da visão estrutural, que concebe a linguagem como sistema autônomo que se relaciona de forma pouco clara com a sociedade, apenas refletindo-a ou sendo um reflexo quase opaco dela, nas abordagens que percorrem este dossiê linguagem e sociedade são indissociáveis. A própria noção de raça, negada pelas Biologia, existe socialmente como uma construção discursiva, social e histórica, que engloba uma série de práticas e de representações, ao mesmo tempo causa e consequência de inúmeras opressões que dão forma à nossa ordem social desigual e injusta.
