Abstract
This article discuss the current question on a production of plural black authorship in
their visual discourses and reading strategies in contemporary brazilian art. The proposition of a
counter-narrative writing comes from the documentary research The afro-Brazilian scene in the
visual arts of São Paulo that includes the research and the formation of archives about black
artists who participated in the Program of Exhibitions of the Centro Cultural São Paulo, between
the period from 1994 to 2017, in dialogue with other contemporary productions. As well as, the
perspective of curators and cultural agents on this scene.
