Abstract
A iniciativa do Grupo de Trabalho Educação e Relações Étnico-Raciais (GT 21) da Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação (ANPED) de organizar um dossiê com algumas experiências das comissões de heteroidentificação racial, adotadas pelas Instituições Públicas de Ensino Superior (IPES), chega em um momento oportuno. Ao implementá-las, as IPES, em especial, as federais, cumprem a Lei 12.711/12, mais conhecida como a Lei de Cotas.
