RELATIONS BETWEEN BRAZIL AND AFRICA FROM THE POLICIES PRACTICES OF AN AFRO-BRAZILIAN PARLIAMENTARY FROM RIO GRANDE DO SUL IN 1970
Main Article Content
Abstract
This proposal aims to examine the relations between Brazil and Africa through political practices of the parliamentary Carlos Santos in the 1970s. Furthermore, we proposed to highlight his ethnic origin as well as aspects of his political career and his interventions. Using quantitative and qualitative interpretation of Carlos Santos' legislative interventions we found an important approximation between Brazil and Africa, mainly caused by the Brazilian government's economic needs, motivated by stagnation of oil and the consequent economic crisis.
