Abstract
O livro “Afrodescência” do professor doutor Francis Musa Boakari, natural de Serra Leoa, África, foi lançado pela Editorial Casa em 2023 . A obra é uma coletânea que discute temas como identidade, racismo estrutural, resistência afrodescendente e outros aspectos relevantes da experiência e história dos afrodescendentes no Brasil. O autor do livro oferece uma análise crítica da afirmação da identidade afrodescendente, abordando não apenas as marcas da escravidão e do racismo estrutural, mas também as formas de resistência cultural e as políticas necessárias para combater a exclusão social. Boakari propõe, assim, uma nova visão sobre o afrodescendente, um sujeito que não é definido apenas pela sua origem africana, mas pela sua luta constante para reconstruir e afirmar sua identidade, cultura e história.A leitura deste livro é urgente para os dias atuais, pois é uma obra rica e profunda que contribui significativamente para o debate sobre racismo, identidade e cultura negra no Brasil
