About ABOUT ART, CULTURES AND REEXISTENCE: VIEWS ON THE BLACK MOVEMENT EDUCATOR IN CONTEMPORARY TIMES
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this issue, we present an interview with Professors Ana Lúcia Silva Souza
(Federal University of Bahia), Professor Paulo Melgaco da Silva Júnior (Municipal
Theatre of Rio de Janeiro), and Professor María Laura Pardo (CONICET‑FFyL‑UBA).
In this interview, the professors discuss themes linked to Professor Nilma Lino Gomes’s
work on the Movimento Negro Educador, which lends its name to the research team to
which the interviewees belong. Topics such as art as a vehicle of liberation and identity,
the importance of body and discourse as manifestations of subjectivity, vulnerable groups
who share struggles with the Black movement, and South–South relations are explored
from a critical, intersectional, and decolonial perspective.
