Abstract
O artigo discorrerá a respeito dos processos educativos que permeiam as práticas do movimento Hip Hop, mais especificamente do rap. O foco aqui será o trabalho desenvolvido pelo coletivo de rap Família M.L.K. e por um músico/rapper que desenvolve projetos sociais com adolescentes afrodescendentes em espaços não escolares, como em organizações não governamentais, centros comunitários, etc. sempre utilizando linguagem musical. Este trabalho está centrado na linha de pesquisa Educação e Movimentos Sociais. Neste sentido compreendemos o movimento Hip Hop na perspectiva de um movimento social produzido por jovens de periferia, em maioria afrodescendentes, que buscam o protagonismo social através das expressões artísticas da dança, artes visuais, discotecagem e especialmente através do gênero musical rap.
