Abstract

This paper revisits Michael Moore’s Theory of Interaction Distance and discusses the implications of teaching African-Brazilian History and Culture on distance mode. We concluded that the organization of the elements of a distance learning course is not the only aspect that ensures the quality or success of the course. The theme, as one of the elements of the structure, is conditioned by historical and ideological factors that interfere in the formatting, development and results of distance learning courses that deal with themes like these.
