Abstract

There is a tendency in Brazil to discuss social issues separate from ethnic-racial issues, as if they did not correlate and / or complement each other. In this perspective, this article aims to provide a theoretical-critical analysis of poverty and inequalities in the country from a social, racial, educational and geopolitical point of view. Using qualitative and quantitative data, the study showed that poverty and inequalities in Brazilian society are, in part, a racial issue that affects the black population to a greater extent, and to a greater extent the economically less developed regions - North and Northeast.
