WHITENESS AND COLONIALITY IN TEACHING PRACTICE IN BASIC EDUCATION (2000-2015)
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article, I intend to identify the aspects of whiteness and coloniality inserted in the teaching practices carried out by the trainees of the History Course of UDESC, in the scope of Basic Education. In order to achieve these objectives, I used as a historical source the reports of the subject of Supervised Curricular Internship in the history course of UDESC. In relation to the theoretical contribution, I have based myself on authors like Franz Fanon (2005), Anibal Quijano (2009) and Achille Mbembe (2014) to think about coloniality and racism today and Stuart Hall (1997) to mobilize the concept of representation , As well as the theorists of the Critical Studies of Whiteness (Cardoso, 2008, Pizza, 2002, Frankenberg, 2004 and Bento, 2002) to question the narrative of white superiority in teaching practices.
