Abstract

The purpose of this text is to present the results of an Extension project entitled: “Once upon a time in Quilombo: storytelling, play and Afro-centered games”. The objective of the action was to carry out storytelling, games and Afro-centered play activities with around 35 children (between 4 and 10 years old) from Early Childhood Education and the early years of Elementary School in a municipal school, located within a community quilombola. The work was developed from the perspective of Racial Literacy. Contributing to the construction of positive black and quilombola identities, based on themes such as ethnic-racial relations, gender, diversity, inclusion, respect for differences, among others. In addition to meeting legal objectives and current educational guidelines. Creating spaces for recognition and appreciation of African, Afro-Brazilian and especially quilombola history and culture.
